Dozomo is a quick way to reach every search engine in the world! Just type the name of a search engine followed by a search term, and dozomo will take you there immediately. If you want to search google for “Miles Davis”, for example, type “google Miles Davis”. To search allmusic for “Miles Davis”, just type “allmusic Miles Davis”. http://dozomo.com/
The more interesting answer is that Dozomo is a
...performance art/business project. The mission is to create a dotcom business from scratch in 24 hours. That means designing and programming a complete and useful web application, recruiting people, doing marketing, creating investment programs and much more. After 24 hours, the complete business will be sold on an eBay auction, and everyone involved will be rich!
When I first read about this I had to check the date on the posting, as it sounded oh-so-4-years-ago. I kept checking in over the weekend, as amidst all the excitement about the business side of things, there was little information about what product they were actually going to build.
I have to say, I’m underwhelmed at what they came up with - maybe this project shows why so many businesses failed in the dot-com era. A “quick way to reach every search engine in the world”? I already have that. It’s called my web browser. If I want to aggregate search results from multiple engines Dogpile has provided that for at least 5 or 6 years.
Anyway, the site is now up on eBay, current at $800 which was over their reserve - which maybe shows that their real expections for “getting rich” are more realistic. The curious thing is that the eBay action mentions the Dozomo url, but doesn’t link to it….
