Michigan drivers are again facing the reality of $3-per-gallon gas - it’s time for President Bush and leaders in Washington to stop watching and start protecting us from the skyrocketing cost of gasoline! It’s just not right that big oil companies should be allowed to hold customers hostage to outrageously expensive gas; they rake in billions in record-setting profits while consumers are left with no option but to pay ever-increasing prices.

For those of you in Michigan, the state website has an on-line petition to lower gas prices.

I do have to admit, one of the upsides of working from home is spending alot less money on gas.  I can’t believe some of the horror stories I’ve been hearing about what people are spending just to get back and forth to work - in some cases enough to justify a house payment for a place closer to the job.

   IMHO, since when does the government sponsor petitions? About something so obvious and, dare I say, petty?

   The comment:

   ...is about as ignorant as they come. You can look at numerous reasons for the problem, some going back to Clinton and the nutty idea to limit the number oil refineries etc., but in truth politicians can do nothing about supply and demand no matter who is in office.

   We all know when they have tried in the past it has had devastating effects.

   This nothing more than more politicizing and attempting to blame those who in truth can do nothing about it.
