CJ6’s tend to be the “forgotten” model of Jeep - most people have heard of CJ5’s and CJ7s and assume that the factory skipped the CJ6. The CJ6 was actually made for around 20 years, albeit in much smaller numbers than the other models.
Essentially the CJ6 is a “stretched” CJ5—Jeep added 20” to the wheelbase of a CJ5, putting the extra space behind the front seats to increase the cargo carrying capacity of the Jeep.
