Well, the word is out. The jig is up. The cat is out of the bag. I can talk about what I’ve been keeping under my hat. I….uh…well I’m out of cliche’s.
Here’s the deal - after a couple of weeks of emails and phone calls and decision making I’m excited to announce that I’ve finally succumbed to my apparent destiny and have accepted a part-time job with EllisLab, the folks behind ExpressionEngine and CodeIgniter.
You can read the official announcement on the ExpressionEngine blog.
So…how is this going to work?
Well, first, if you are a current Boyink Interactive client please make no mistake—I am not closing my doors. My full expectation is that due to the part time, flexible nature of this position you will see no change in the level of service and responsiveness that I’ve provided in the past.
I still plan to take on client work - but understandably less of it in order to accommodate my new role with EllisLab.
So - why the change?
The biggest reason for me is a chance for a new challenge, a chance to learn some new stuff, and a chance to work with some really smart people. And - after 5.5 years of solo work it’ll be a nice change to be part of a group again. I just have a feeling that 2008 is going to be a stellar year for ExpressionEngine, and I’m excited to be a part of it!
Here’s to 2008!
