Donald Engineering - the Next Generation in Fluid Power

Donald Engineering is a West Michigan-based company that provides pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum circuit and system design.

I’m pleased to announce the launch of http://www.DonaldEngineering.com

The new site for Donald Engineering is another excellent example of a small business website using a blogging tool as an inexpensive yet powerful content management system.  The Donald site is powered by pMachine, the same blogging package that powers the site you’re reading right now.

For Donald this means their staff can add, edit, or delete the site content without calling me.  Not that I mind more billable hours, mind you, but in the grand scheme of things having to call me for minor text changes isn’t cost-effective for Donald, nor is it all that exciting for me…;)

The site uses Cascading Stylesheets for layout with the sole exception of the search results page.  For Donald this means easier design updates and redesigns down the road, as well as very lightweight pages that load fast and display well in a variety of browsers.

I also implemented pMachine “search engine friendly” urls—it’ll be interesting to watch the Google results for “Donald Engineering”.  Currently the Boyink.com mention of Donald in the “Clients” section is #1 result, with their old site not placing at all—according to the tools at Marketleap.com.

Take a look!

Looks nice and clean for a manufacturer’s rep.

Since they are a local company, I’d add their address to the footer of every page.  Maybe even “serving Grand Rapids, Holland, Zeeland” etc. to help clarify their coverage.
