In a statement, Eric Ellenbogen, chairman and CEO of Classic Media, said that his company looks forward “to supporting (Big Idea’s) mission” and “growing the brand” in the future.
Potentially sad news. Whenever I see a new company take over an existing good thing and talk about “growing the brand” I get nervous, especially in this case. Often the best way to “grow” a Christian brand is to make it more mainstream, essentially forcing the brand to cannibalize itself.
Let’s hope that isn’t the case here.
