Well, it seems the holiday is over as far as comment spam goes here on Boyink.com. While sites powered by other blogging tools have been fighting this for some time now, Boyink.com has been unaffected mostly because it runs on pMachine, which just doesn’t have the market penetration (and the resulting spam opportunity) as MoveableType. I’ve posted a request for help in the support forums at pMachine, let’s hope the user community responds with some spam-fighting tools the MoveableType community has.
My desired solution is to just not allow comments with HTML in them.
My apologies to those of you who’ve commented on posts here, and are now getting some of this spam via the comment notification emails.
