Boyink Family Extranet

I’ve added a project page for the Boyink Family Extranet to the Portfolio section here on Boyink.com.

While in our specific case the extranet has a very limited audience, the extranet nicely shows how one copy of ExpressionEngine can easily power both a public website and extranet (complete with different site designs) - be it for one geeky family or a business.

    Hey Mike,

I think I’ve been subscribed to your RSS feed since you first put them up. I read usually most of the posts, but somehow missed this one. I think the idea of a family intranet is awesome. My kids, now all teens, are all hating me because I have pretty much blocked access to all the popular, but potentially dangerous, sharing portals. I like your idea, because they could now have access to their own sites, where we can invite only their friends and family to join.

Were you able to do all that with the personal version of ExpressionEngine, or the professional version? I will have to explore ExpressionEngine in more detail. I have not given it much attention since it was pMachine.

Hey, by the way, I like the new Boyink.com site. Very nice.
