Better Windows Audio Equalizer?

From the “why is this so hard?” department…I subscribe to Yahoo’s Launch service.  It doesn’t use an add-on player like Real or Windows Medial player to stream the music, it instead uses a browser plug in (works in IE, but not in Mozilla.  Go figure).

I just bought a new set of headphones, and would like to get a bit more treble (I’m a former audio board jockey - the urge to tweak never goes away).  The simple bass and treble controls are disabled when I bring up the Windows Volume control.

I thought I would just download a shareware graphic EQ.  All I can find are MP3 players that have an EQ built in - nothing that seems to load at the Windows level that would work for the browser-based Launch service.

Any tips?

I’m guessing you didn’t find an answer? If you do, I have the same question - I’d really appreciate it if you would drop me a line…

    Try this link:
    http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/GraEq/

This may be what you (and I) have been searching for.  It is shareware so eventually you have to buy it or lose it.  But its all I could find.

Good luck.  I am going to try and install tonight.

    Cheers, j.k.

First link (Graphic Equalizer Pro 2.2) is shareware, $40.

Second link (Audio Sliders) is also shareware, $19.95.

Isn’t there a freeware mixer/equalizer?  It would be so useful for bad headphones and boosting low-volume DVD’s.  Also a compressor.  Anyone?
