  1. Site Relaunch: LudemaBoyinkSod.com
April 25, 2007 in Boyink Interactive News

I’m pleased to announce that the Ludema & Boyink Sod Farm site has been relaunched using ExpressionEngine to manage the content.

The site was launched last June, and at the time was all static due to it’s small size and the expectation that the content wouldn’t change much year to year.  However the farm recently wanted to change enough of the content that it made more sense to invest those dollars in powering it with EE.

They are also now positioned nicely for any future upgrades by simply taking advantage of more of ExpressionEngine’s built in features.

The document doesn’t really detail out the site - just including a few specific functions it needs to have.  And it breaks the project out into a discovery phase and a production phase, so they expect some time to be spent doing audience confirmation, needs analysis, user/stakeholder interviews, determining required functionality, etc.

Yet - they want a budget that covers both the discovery and production.  A fixed fee, even.

    Me: Hello:
Voice: This is ____ from the Better Business Bureau.  May I talk to the business owner?
    Me: No thanks.
    Long pause….
Voice: I guess you’re not the business owner.
Me: No, I am the business owner.  I just have no interest in talking to you.
    Long pause….
Voice: I guess your’re not a better business.

I’ve posted before about my experiences with the BBB.  I still think at the most they’re a scam, and at the least no longer relevant in the Internet era.
