  3. Welcome Willys Overland!
May 22, 2005 in Boyink Interactive News

I’m excited to announce Boyink Interactive’s newest client - Willys Overland in Toledo, Ohio.

For those of you not well-versed in automotive history, Willys Overland was instrumental in the early development of the first Jeep®, produced the lion’s share of military Jeeps during World War II, and went on to market and produce Jeep vehicles for the civilian market until the mid 1960’s, when the brand name was discontinued by then-owner Kaiser.  Kaiser was later purchased by AMC, and then AMC by Chrysler, now Daimler Chrysler.

If you drive I-75 south thorugh Toledo, you can still see the “Overland” name on a large smoke stack, with 100’s of brand new Jeep Wranglers parked around it’s base awaiting shipment.

Willys Overland is now a Jeep parts supplier mainly serving the vintage Jeep owners crowd.

    Plans for the site include:

    - Creating a historic and nostalgic experience for site visitors by incorporating pictures of vintage Jeeps and Willys Overland marketing materials from the 1940’s - 1960’s

    - Rounding out the content with more pictures and descriptions of products sold

    - More clearly presenting Willys Overland’s “Unique Selling Proposition” in the Jeep parts market

    - Building a web-standards based website using a content management application

As a die-hard Jeep enthusiast myself, I’m excited about building a site that does justice to the contributions that the Willys Overland brand has made to US history.

  5. Protect Your Brand with Multiple Web Domains
May 17, 2005 in Web Marketing

Is your company name easily misspelled?  Is your business known by a nickname locally?  Does your business name have multiple words?  Do you have trademarked products or services?

If you’ve answered any of those questions with “yes”, then you should consider buying additional domain names to protect and support your online brand.

OK - back up the bus.  That last statement is filled with web and marketing buzzwords and I don’t want you to check out on me here.

So here’s what I mean - I assume that you want as many people as possible to find your business site on the web. I assume that this is a more important goal than making sure people know exactly how your business name is spelled, or knowing when your web address is different than your whole business name.
