  3. Why Flash for Static Images?

    SixApart, the company behind the leading blog platform MoveableType has just launched a redesign of their corporate website.

    The first thing I noticed, because I run a Flash-blocker for Firefox is that all of the paragraph headers are actually Flash files containing static text.

    I always seem to be a bit behind the curve on some design approaches, so help me out here - what’s the advantage of this?  I’m assuming a better looking text presentation is one reason - but typically designers will create simple .JPG or .GIF images of text to achieve that.  What does Flash bring to the table?
