Twitter Rules

I agree with the rules, especially those about food and geolocation services like FourSquare. There are several people I follow for the 1 out of 10 tweets of their tweets that are valuable, but it’s hard to filter out the 9 in 10 useless tweets.

Hah, your post title is ambiguous and it threw me for a loop when I first read it. “What? Mike acknowledging that Twitter is awesome?! No way!”

Then I read the post and it all makes sense. =) I generally agree with your rules. I mean Twitter can be whatever to whoever, and no one is “right” or “wrong” and some people you follow plant themselves all over a scale of “this is acceptable to me” or “this is not acceptable,” and there are no hard lines, and sometimes there needs to be a little leeway, but sometimes things are too out of hand.

Although since switching jobs, I haven’t been nearly as active on Twitter as I used to, and I haven’t really missed it too much. I hop on there if I need something or hop on my phone if I am bored, but it’s not a piece of my time that I miss too much.

Another Neighbor Disappears

We’ve had only two foreclosures near us, but neither was a long term resident - one rental, one never actually lived in by the owners. We’re in an unusual area, though, living near the river. It’s not a place that anyone moves into without great intention, and maybe that’s the difference.

Our sadness came when one of our older neighbors passed. We don’t see him waving from his car as he passed us while we were picking up our mail. We miss his hound dogs howling at us from behind an ivy covered chain link fence. His mulberry tree produced fruit for the first time in years, and he wasn’t there to celebrate the bounty.

Either way, sudden departures are sad, and we also think about what we should have done better as neighbors.

Good post.

Thanks Chad. I thought we were on the upswing here too but the insurance guy we met with yesterday said there are more foreclosures this year than last.

It is sad. But itsmgreat that you notice and remember the little things. I’d expect nothing less from you frankly.

In my parents neighborhood out here about 1 in every 5 houses was foreclosed last year. It was eerie. Getting better now though.
