Two CJ6’s on the Same Trailrun

The west-coast crew of EarlyCJ5.com recently had a trail run on the Big Bear Trail in California with 2 CJ6’s in attendance.  Unbelievably (to me anyway), no one seems to have gotten a pic of the two together!  Here’s one - a very stock 1966 CJ6 owned by by Jim S. from South California.  It’s sporting some rollcage sections and rocker guards installed fresh for the occasion.

The other CJ6 is this 1971 CJ6 owned by Ray from San Diego, CA.:

Ray’s spec sheet, while brief, lists many nice upgrades to the ‘71 platform:

71 cj-6 350 chevy sm420, YJ springs shackle reverse, 44 front powerloc front and rear warn O.D.

There was even one other CJ6 owner in attendance who choose his Unlimited Rubicon over his unfinished CJ6.  Also in attendance was Christian Hazel (former CJ6 owner) from JP Magazine:

We’re hoping to see a writeup from the trip make it into the pages of JP - showing how some pretty stock or mildly built early Jeep iron did on the trail.
