A significant transition has happened today, one that you’d have to be a car lover to understand.
SSDutch has now claimed the “Jeep Spot” in the garage - a subtle yet significant transition for us in this project, as Dutch will now live outside for the first time since I was 18 and lived at home with my folks, and dutifully covered him with a car cover every night. Ever since I got married and moved out of my parents house, Dutch has had a garage space of some sort - even when we rented. Since we bought our own house 8 years ago, he’s had the far side of the garage.
Difference in wheelbase evident here:
CJ5 and CJ6, sharing the garage for a mere 10 minutes - probably the only time they will. The guy buying Dutch’s V6 came just a few minutes after taking this pic:
My spare V6 and misc. parts going with the deal, still in the wooden engine stand put together for the Torch V6 Relay years ago. Hmm..that’s now a Novak-built engine stand, maybe a collector’s item?
Dutch leaving home….no, not permanently. Dutch is getting towed to the engine buyer’s shop, where he will remove the engine himself. Works for me - I get paid and don’t have to do the heavy lifting!
This sight sure gave me a strange feeling….
