SSDutch CJ6 Jeep Blog

Hemmings-Inspired Update

I was happy to see that SSDutch and this blog were recently featured on the Hemmings Motor News blog.  So - just like you clean house when company is coming - I thought a fresh post would be nice.

The reason there haven’t been as many updates here is that SSDutch is together and drivable - and I’m just having fun driving it.  Oh - I still have things I want to do to it yet.  Like finish the paint job, and get the fuel injection installed.  But when the weather is 75 degrees and sunny I just can’t bring myself to begin a project that will take the Jeep offline for any length of time.

Here are a few pics from the past few weeks.  This first one I took because I liked the “City mouse, country mouse” feel to it with the Jeep parked next to the City Flats Hotel downtown Holland.

This next picture is from the Tulip Time car show—I was headed downtown for some festival fun and just before I left caught word of the car show going on.  I needed a parking place anyway, so left SSDutch (complete with it’s non-vacuumed interior and bugs on the windshield) next to the guys doing the extreme cleanup job on their GTO.  The show was a bit of a bust however - when I came back to hear the live band and see the rest of the cars it was fairly deserted with the band playing to about 20 people, all of them car owners.

And finally we keep SSDutch humble by putting it to work.  A few bushes in the backyard had died and needed to come out.  Pulling them with the Jeep sounded way more fun than digging them out by hand:
