Color Noodling

I’m still noodling with what color to paint SSDutch.  I’m planning on using some of the Valspar Tractor and Implement paints from Tractor Supply.  Here are a few ideas including - Ford Blue, Kabota Orange, one of the 3 reds they have, John Deere Yellow, keeping it white but painting the wheels red, or MF gray with red wheels.  I’ve also chopped up an picture with the top up just to get a feel for that contrast.

Red is always a favorite, but the Ford Blue (in a flattened/satin finish) is a strong contender.  I also don’t mind the Kabota Orange as much as I thought I might.

    Hey now…  I’ve got black wheels!  ;)

Have you considered a classic green?

I painted my M715 in Vietnam-era USMC semi-gloss forest green using Gillespie paint (tough as nails, and surprisingly cheap).  I like it so much, I’m trying to talk myself out of painting my CJ-5 with the same stuff!

I have a color option for you.  This is a jeep we just overhauled during a charity jeep build for a guy injured back in feb. the color was horrible on the sample chip but the final product was amazing.  there are pictures here.
